Welcome to The Pines Care Home. We are a privately owned residential care home located in a quiet residential area of Southampton, Hampshire. The home was purpose built in 2003 and provides accommodation for up to 34 elderly residents in a comfortable, safe and supportive environment. The Pines is owned and managed by Greenleaf Care Ltd and is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide personal care for older people, including those living with dementia.
Our aim is to provide a high standard of individualised care in a warm and friendly atmosphere, where residents are treated with dignity, respect and compassion at all times. We believe that every person is unique and we strive to ensure that the care we provide is tailored to meet the individual needs, wishes and preferences of each resident. We encourage residents to maintain their independence and to continue to make choices about their daily lives wherever possible.
Our Home
Accommodation
The Pines provides 34 single bedrooms, all of which are fully furnished and equipped with an en-suite toilet and wash basin. Several rooms also benefit from en-suite shower facilities. All rooms are fitted with a nurse call system, television aerial point and telephone point. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items such as photographs, ornaments and small pieces of furniture to make their room feel like home. All rooms are centrally heated and have double-glazed windows.
Communal Areas
The home has several communal areas for residents to enjoy. These include a spacious main lounge with comfortable seating and a large flat-screen television, a separate quiet lounge ideal for reading or receiving visitors in private, a bright and airy dining room, and a conservatory which opens onto the rear garden patio area. There is also a hairdressing salon within the home which is used by our visiting hairdresser.
Types of Care We Provide
Residential Care
For older people who require assistance with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, toileting, medication management and mobility. Our experienced care team provides 24-hour support in a safe and comfortable environment. Each resident has a named keyworker who is responsible for coordinating their care and ensuring that their individual needs are met.
Dementia Care
We are able to provide care for people living with mild to moderate dementia within our main residential setting. Our staff receive regular training in dementia awareness and person-centred approaches to care. We use techniques such as reminiscence therapy, sensory stimulation and meaningful activities to support residents living with dementia and to help them maintain their quality of life.
Respite Care
We welcome short-stay residents for respite breaks, subject to availability. Respite care provides a valuable opportunity for regular carers to take a break from their caring responsibilities, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is being well looked after. Respite stays can be arranged for periods of one week or longer. Please contact us to discuss availability and fees.
